right this is sharons early bay its a 1972 named sunhigh been off the road for 3 years waiting for me to start her its mainly front end rot as the rear looks ok i will let the pics do the talking
as she looked as of sunday morning
needed to get her nice and high to work on so got the lifting gear out lol
once the playing with the block and tackle was finished it was time to cut out some steel
she now looks like this after tonight
only noticed to day she had a early step on the drivers side and a late step on the passenger side lol:shake:
needs all the front chassis rails reparing as there fucked and the steering box was moving as you turned the wheel
the chassis under the pasanger side
and the drivers side
more as and when i do it as i aint doing it as fast as the 412 resto lol _________________ matt |

right cant belive its been so long since i did any thing to the van
as sharon is away for the week i have aranged to have a good go on the van to get some new panels on it as a suprise for sharon when she gets back friday
with the help of some top mates i thought i could get the front panel on for her so she could see some progress
how fucking wrong was i the van is so fucked i was thinking of scraping it sunday afternoon we all couldent belive how bad it was. thought i had my bad luck with the 412 lol
by the end of sunday i realised that i couldent scrap it and it was repairable with the help of a front end of a bay thanks to toby to cut the chassis sections from and including a new beam i needed
i will let the pics do the talking as im knackerd
as you can see the beams not to healthy
the chassis sections
the chassis leg cut out ready
the new section to be fitted
and the new leg fitted and welded in
now the drivers side thats all the way from the front to 10" past the first outrigger thats no good
and a pic of where the outrigger should be lol
and a pic of the new chassis section thats got to go in
all in all i have never seen a bay rot this bad and only been of the road for 3 years

ok latest up date
the chassis has been replaced both sides now we did that last night it just needs finishing cheers si and grainger tied up the chassis section that was missing
now a pic of the old door post
and the post cut out
and the new one tacked in
and door fitted to check alinement
well chuffed at how it lined up just got to fully weld it in now
and sharon came back today and is well happy and impressed and how every one came and mucked in cheers lads _________________ matt |
